The church of Agios Nikolaos (Άγιος Νικόλαος) is one of the largest and most impressive religious structures in Milos. Situated in the village of Trypiti northwest of the port in Adamantas, it dominates the landscape and makes for a great photo opportunity.

I first passed by the church on my way to visit the Catacombs and Ancient Theatre, both of which are close to Trypiti. I stopped at a small cafe (Monk Cafe) for a caffeine hit and made a mental note to try and capture a photo of the church.

My plan for the evening was to return to Plaka or Trypiti to catch the sunset and enjoy an evening meal at a nearby taverna. Sadly, cloud cover on the horizon meant that any chances of a picturesque sunset photo were dashed, but I was still keen to explore the landscape and take whatever photos I could. I left my bike in Trypiti at the car park close to the bus stop and walked east uphill towards the windmills.

After capturing a photo looking northwest towards Plaka and the summit atop which sits a small church, I turned south and saw Agios Nikolaos church dominating the landscape and appearing to stand alone, despite it being surrounded by nearby buildings when seen up close.
