Friday 22nd – Saturday 23rd July 2022
Back to the Beach
Once again, I’m combining the last two days into a single post to speed the blog along. Although these were my girlfriend’s last two full days on Kos, we weren’t that motivated to do more sightseeing and instead preferred to spend time relaxing at the beach.
After the usual delicious breakfast at Hotel Sonia, we spent the majority of both days down at the beach in front of the Sunburnt Arms taverna, sunbathing and swimming.
Dinner and Evenings
For dinner, on Friday we walked into Kos Old Town and ended up at a Greek taverna called Zorbas which was pretty decent. My girlfriend had stuffed tomatoes (one of her favourite Greek dishes) while I tried the moussaka (one of my favourites). The food was good, though not the best moussaka I’ve ever eaten. Afterwards, we walked to Chop’n’Roll to get some freshly made ice cream desserts, then all the way across town to XL Cafe Bar for a cheap cocktail before heading back to the hotel.
On Saturday, I booked a table at MamaRosa again so that we had a nice meal organised for my girlfriend’s final full day with me. This time, I went for a BBQ pizza instead of pasta, while my girlfriend had the same pasta dish as she had earlier in the week. Both were delicious.
After dinner, we treated ourselves to a more upmarket cocktail experience and went to Sitar bar which is in a very central spot just behind the marina.
The cocktails were excellent and definitely better than those from XL Cafe Bar, but admittedly cost twice as much so they should be nicer!
