As the second stop on my 19-night Greece trip, Sifnos offered plenty of accommodation options close to the port in Kamares. Hotel Kamari was specifically recommended to me by someone on the TripAdvisor forums so, after confirming the cost and location were good, I booked it for my 6-night stay.
Hotel Kamari is slightly further from the port than other places you might consider, but the benefit is it feels more spacious – both inside and out – and is still only 5 minutes from the main beach and several tavernas.
It’s not a particularly modern hotel, though. I would best describe it as “typically Greek”, with traditional furnishings and bathroom design (i.e. just a shower curtain over a small basin). The room was clean though and much larger than I expected, with a sofa and plenty of storage areas. It also featured a small kitchenette with utensils so you could prepare your own meals if desired – I didn’t use it much as I like to dine out on holidays, but I did make my own coffee in the morning as well as using the fridge to store water and snacks.
For under €50 per night, it ticked all the boxes. The staff were friendly, the location was good and the room was clean and had everything I needed. I would definitely stay again next time I’m on Sifnos.
