Hotel Breakfast
Hotel Boulis offers breakfast for an extra few euros per day. It’s a basic selection, but adequate and much cheaper than eating at a nearby cafe. Before heading to the beach, we ate bread, cereal, yoghurt, tea, and coffee. It was still cloudy, but the weather seemed slightly better than yesterday, leaving us optimistic about some sunbathing.
Sunbathing and Parents’ Arrival
My parents were due in on the same ferry we’d used the day before, scheduled to arrive at 10:30 a.m. In anticipation, we reserved four sunbeds at To Kohyli, using two to sunbathe for a while. I was tracking the ferry online using MarineTraffic and could see it was running slightly late again. Just before 11 a.m., we wandered over to the port, timing our arrival just as the boat appeared in the mouth of the bay.
A few moments later, passengers were spilling out onto the dock, and I spotted Mum and Dad among the crowd. Waving to them, they walked over, and we greeted each other before helping them away from the port with their luggage.
As it was too early for them to check in, they joined us on the beach at To Kohyli for drinks. Mum and Dad also had a club sandwich as they were hungry, but Marion and I weren’t ready to eat yet.
Afternoon Relaxing
Mum and Dad left us at the beach just after midday to check into their room at Hotel Boulis, returning a short time later dressed for the beach. Fortunately, the sun had broken through the clouds, and it turned out to be a lovely, warm afternoon, perfect for sunbathing and swimming in the sea.
Sunset Cocktails and Dinner
We soaked up the sun until late afternoon, then returned to the hotel to shower and rest before dinner. Continuing our tradition from last year, we met around 6 p.m. and headed to Captain’s Bar for some pre-dinner happy-hour cocktails.
Although Passione Italiana has surpassed Camaron as my favourite restaurant in Kamares, I decided we had to visit Camaron first to see if the waitress still remembered me: she had recognised me last year from my numerous visits back in 2020. Sure enough, as we arrived and waited to be seated, she gave me a look of recognition and welcomed us back again. It was a great meal – I had my usual Tortellini Camaron, and it was as delicious as I’d remembered.
