I stayed at Livadia for two nights as part of an 8-island Greek holiday. Compared to some of my other accommodation, it was on the cheaper side, but I needed to save money somewhere and, for two nights, it looked comfortable enough. Arriving by ferry, the location is close enough to be walkable, even with a suitcase. It took about 10 minutes to walk from the port to the hotel.
On arrival, I was greeted by a friendly reception from the staff. My room wasn’t quite ready (I was early), but they allowed me to drop off my luggage and freshen up so that I could head back out to meet some friends. The room itself was small and pretty basic, but nothing less than I had expected for the price. It was clean and the bed seemed comfortable enough.
Breakfast wasn’t included in the room rate, but the hotel has a restaurant on the ground floor and they do serve food all day. For €7.50, I got what turned out to be a delicious breakfast deal: tea/coffee, fresh orange juice, bread, jam and yoghurt with honey. Looking back on the trip, this was the best breakfast I had so I can thoroughly recommend it!
So, there isn’t really anything negative to say about Livadia. It’s pretty basic, but good value for money and the staff are really lovely. I never ate at their restaurant in the evening, but I did try Cavo D’Oro next door and enjoyed the meal.
If I had been staying more than two nights, I would have been tempted to spend a bit more and stay elsewhere, but for a short visit I can highly recommend Hotel Livadia to any budget-conscious traveller.
