Koumpara Beach
Situated in its own wide bay, just around a headland from the port of Ios, Koumpara is a popular beach due to its soft sand and shallow sea. You’ll find the EREGO beach club and restaurant behind the beach, a premier and lively beach club with a large pool and upbeat music. From Koumpara, it’s possible to walk north to Pathos Club & Restaurant, another very popular party destination.
There are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas for rent (€5 per sunbed when we visited in August 2022), but also space to put down a towel if you prefer, particularly at the western end.

Its proximity to the port and accommodation around Gialos Beach make it a convenient destination, though it takes about 30 minutes on foot. The local bus service visits regularly, however, so that’s the easiest option if you lack your own transportation.
